About me

Welcome to my world.

My name is Sam Roskam. As a Dutch American artist who has experienced different cultures around the world, I find inspiration in the small moments and stories that often go unnoticed. Our world is filled with stories that have yet to be told - some visible, others hidden just beneath the surface.

It is within the balance between imagination and fundamental reality that my work takes shape. Inspired by animation and the natural world, I bring these ideas to life through digital 2D animation, alongside explorations in traditional media such as watercolor and colored pencil.

Through my work, I aim not only to entertain, but also to encourage curiosity  to show that inspiration can be found anywhere, as long as you are willing to look for it.

Programs

As you might have seen above this text, I am comfortable in Procreate, ToonBoom Harmony and some Adobe programs. These are programs I use everyday or have learned through my studies.

Besides those digital programs, it is always a pleasure to work with material that is not bound to a screen. That is why I like to work with watercolour, colour pencil and fineliner. Sometimes I can even be found working with metals

My curiosity is always bigger than my knowledge, so I am happy to learn more about anything.
