Monster Zoo, Development of Visual Storytelling (2025)

Story of Monster Zoo
Monster Zoo is an idea I created, being born of mythical creatures being the last of their kind and have to hide out in a (Central Park like) Zoo.
"In a world where monsters exist, various nearly extinct monsters find themselves casually hiding out in a zoo disguised as animals. But everything changes when a new owner takes over and not just the zoo but also their lives are in danger"
A kids show with a meaningful story about extinction.
Monster Zoo was for me a tiny passion project because of the combination between visual storytelling and animals. By those reasons I was happy to take the role of Animal Designer, besides the role of Producer and Writer.
Maybe this isn't the last thing we see from Monster Zoo...
Designing the animals for this hypothetical show, was a great challenge. We wanted them to look like mythical creatures on their own, like the Tapir or the Hornbill have a mystical touch. They look like the animal but their proportions make them interesting next to the monsters. Beside that choice we wanted the animals to look dumber as well, creating a barrier between the creatures and animals.
